Meditations & Resources
As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.
~ Henry David Thoreau
Meditation can help
I know far too many professionals and parents who put their own needs after those of their clients and loved ones, but we must learn to put ourselves first. As we hear from flight attendants when the flight safety speech is given, we have to put our oxygen mask on first before helping others.
Meditation can help. I know this might sound hokey to some, but think about how much better you feel after an argument, or when stressed, if you take a few deep breaths to calm down. Now imagine you’re taking time to focus on your breathing for a few minutes a day, resting quietly, and not thinking of anything else but your breathing. It’s not easy tuning out all the noise in the world, but with practice you’ll find that you begin to yearn for this quiet time to relax and unwind even if it’s just for a few minutes.
Perhaps you’ll find time to meditate longer once you see the benefits.
Guided meditations are coming soon. But for now, I hope you’ll take the time to listen to this meditation that is meant to help cleanse you of negative thoughts and fears.
