Thoughts on the Coronavirus…

I was looking at pictures of our beautiful planet earth yesterday and thinking about what’s happening today. In connecting with our Mother, it struck me at how infinitesimal we are in the universe, but how astronomic our damage has been to our planet. It feels like our Mother is doing what she can to bring balance back to our world b/c, let’s face it, we really have thrown things off kilter! When you view this from the perspective of our own body, parts of us shut down a bit while other parts take over more, perhaps overcompensating here and there. In the end, our body will find balance one way or another. We are changed though and reminded just how fragile our lives truly are. Grief plays a huge role in all of this as many of us don’t want to accept the imbalance. We want to remain the same when forces outside of us are reminding us that that isn’t going to happen. Today, we’re being reminded more than ever that we no longer live in a world we once did. While many of us have time to consider that, I hope you will use this time to grieve and find new meaning in the world we live in today. Some say we need to “accept” what has happened and move on. I’m not willing to accept a lot of what we’re seeing today so I’ll choose to find new meaning and a new direction, an outlet for my grief as I move onward and upward. I’m using my grief to take action and support the work of the Poor People’s Campaign as they address morality, social and environmental justice. I’m using my grief to take action in supporting the rights of Nature movement to give Nature the same rights as I have. Clearly, we should’ve learned by now that she needs to have a voice at the table when policies are created for the health and safety of all of Mother Earth’s inhabitants. These are undoubtedly scary times we are living in. Let’s please choose to honor our feelings and then use them, harness them, to take action and make some positive changes so we can all find our way with grace, compassion and love. If you need any assistance, please let me know.
